Albion Christian College: Thoughts, History, Announcements

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

We spent all day cleaning the house, preparing for family to come into town tomorrow. Physical labor can be a great activity for one's health. We are looking forward to spending time with family and keeping our activities local for the next week or so. We are praying about speaking at other churches as we approach the last weeks of summer. School starts in just under 5 weeks. We are continuing to recruit full time and part time students. If you are interested in taking classes, look on the website for information and an application.

Seminar

We have come back from doing a homeschool and youth ministry seminar in Grandview, ID. This week end was very good. There were small groups in both sessions, learning about the educational philosophy and techniques of Albion Christian College and also learning about youth ministry.

Valley Christian Fellowship blessed us greatly this week end. Please pray for them, that the Holy Spirit would continue to move in the area of Grandview and Bruneau through Valley Christian Fellowship. Please pray that Pastor Good will be blessed with a pulpit aflame in righteousness and that people will come to repentance and trust in the Lord Jesus through his teaching.

Post 100, One Hundred Post

This is the one hundredth post on this blog. Just thought you should know.

We are preparing to go teach in Grandview, ID at Valley Christian Fellowship. I am nervous and excited as I am going from a 5-20 minute presentation to 3 1 hour teaching times. This is going to be a good time for both people interested in Youth Ministry and in Education.

Please pray about how God can use you to help in starting the ministry of Albion Christian College. We are working throughout the day, six to seven days a week and we need prayer and assistance.

Rock Springs

We spent the week end at Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church. Church started bright and early (7:30 AM). We had a good reception at the first service even though my presentation was plagued with technical problems. The second service was likewise plagued. Dad spoke on Psalm 33 in both services. Praise God that his voice did not die.

Entonces, fuemos a la Iglesia Evangelical Libertad y alababamos con ellos. Fue bien.

Ok, that was my foray into Spanish on the blog for now.
After meeting with La Iglesia, we had dinner and they put us up in a hotel. Today we drove back from WY, making several stops to visit churches along the way and now we are home and looking forward to this busy upcoming week. Keep us in your prayers.

Update

Business surrounds us as we go forward with the ministry which God has called us to. Many meetings take the place of our days. Applications are starting to come in, mom is continuing to do interviews for her dissertation. The accountant we hired sent us a list of things still needed to finish the 501(c)3 which I am attempting to have finished by Monday so we can hopefully hand in our finished application by the end of next week.

We are manning a booth this week end in Burley, for Unity Sunday.
Please keep us in your prayers, and pray for the students who are joining us, that God would provide for them.

Where have you been?

For those who are wondering what has been happening here, we have been busy working. Mom and dad have been working the last two weeks, dad talks to donors, mom interviews people for her dissertation. I have been in Salt Lake City for the last 6 days attending the Evangelical Free Church Youth Conference with a local church here in Jerome. The conference was good, the speakers challenging this generation to change the world by living holy lives. We did some ministry and saw God work in some amazing ways among the homeless downtown and the youth at the conference.

Two weeks ago we were at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church and Valley Free Will Baptist in Salt Lake City. Last week end dad spoke at Winepress Church in Twin Falls and this weekend we are speaking on homeschooling and the college at a church in Blackfoot. This is an incredibly busy time as we speak about the college and begin the training ministry which is going to be a characteristic mark of ACC through its life. Keep us in your prayers,
Serving the one King,
Nathanael Davis
