The Joys of Ministry

There are some joys which come from doing ministry which people never really understand unless they experience them: the slow pace of a day that comes from watching a single mom's son on the week end his dad was supposed to have him, waking early and heading to a prayer meeting which men have been attending every Saturday morning for some thirty years.

The experience of small prayers instantly answered is continually putting me in awe of the God we serve, who is real and really interacts with us. It is awe inspiring and somewhat intimidating that God hears and answers.

Green Matters

We have been convicted of the need of personal and corporate financial responsibility as we start this college. It started when I read The Total Financial Makeover by Dave Ramsey. Ramsey is very firm on the matter of going into as little debt as possible. This has been good for us, as we realize that ACC needs to focus on spending money to further God's kingdom, not creditors. We are thinking much about finances and about how to live responsibly in God's service, we welcome discussion of finances and will blog more about this as time goes on.

Reminder

The Second Monthly Meeting of Revival's Searing Flame, The Albion Christian College community prayer and worship night is happening this Friday at from 7:00-9:00 at 146 10th Ave E, Jerome ID.

Passover Part Deux

The twenty something people we crammed into that room was a little much, but it was a good feast and a good remembrance of what God has done and a time of looking forward to what He will do.

Passover

A small group of people met tonight at the temporary headquarters of Albion Christian College to celebrate the Passover feast. There was food and food and food, as well as some sort of readings or something, I don't remember. I am stuffed. The end of the Passover feast tells people that we will meet "next year, in the New Jerusalem!" I couldn't help but add, in Albion.
The passover service was very helpful in realizing that God's promises to the people of Israel came about through a time of things getting much worse (the Egyptians made them cut their own straw) and did not get better until the Israelites were just about sick. This night is a good night to remember God's redemption and the bitter taste of our sin and the meaning of what Jesus did here.
