Business

I am now in Canada taking a two day class and we are preparing to offer classes starting next week. I am working on developing the administrative framework necessary to recruit students and to develop the college over the next few years. Continue praying for health, for safety for me as I drive through the lovely winter mountain passes and for guidance in the actions we take to start ACC.

Texas, Classes and Vancouver

Mom and dad just got back from Texas. Mom is a wee bit sick though, so I am hoping to stay well as I have to go to class in Vancouver this weekend. While opening for classes next week, we are trying to juggle around class schedules to allow students to come, especially the Wednesday night Apologetics class. Lots of work is going on, keep us in your prayers

Weekend

One more week to go until we start offering classes. Please pray for safety as mom and dad are flying back from Texas on Tuesday and I am driving to Langley, BC, Canada to attend class on Thursday. We have been busy and will continue to be busy as we move forward with the work God has given us.

Miss Katherine Dang

On Monday Randall and I had scheduled an appointment with Mr. and Mrs. James Kilkenny at their Teachers for the Nations cafeteria. When we arrived, Miss Katherine Dang was eating lunch with them and we were invited to join them. What a privilege it was for us to glean insight and understanding from three of the most knowledgeable Principle Approach educators in the nation! We listened, questioned, and absorbed from the wisdom they have about the relationship of God and government, whether self-government, school government or civil government. We discussed the curriculum of the college and how to order the courses.

Perhaps the most astonishing aspect of the meeting was the encouragement that Miss Dang gave to us to go forward in our work of starting Albion Christian College. She stated that our preparation, timing and experience were good to pioneer a new work. I cannot express how much her words meant to us.

What an honor to have spent time with such godly Christians as Miss Dang and Mr. and Mrs. Kilkenny! They certainly stimulated our thinking and challenged us to grow in our knowledge of our Saviour!

While continuing to work, we definitely need to see God work in the financial realm to keep ACC running. Please pray for regular small donors to come alongside ACC and help in the operational costs as we want to supplement tuition with donors so that ACC will remain affordable amid the rising costs of higher education.

Update

We have been recruiting students and raising supporters for the college. Mom and dad are in Texas talking to supporters of education and Board members. I have been talking to churches in the area and prospecting for students. We will open classes the first week in February. Greek will be offered in Twin Falls on Mondays and Wednesdays and Burley on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:40; Apologetics will be offered on Wednesdays in Twin Falls and on Tuesdays* in Burley from 7:00-9:40. We are excited to be offering classes and to see God's plans for ACC unfold. Since we are planning on offering classes at prices comparable to public universities, we are seeking to raise approximately $6,000 monthly. Please pray about donating on a regular basis, and keep watching the website for an automatic means of donating.

*If there is a large portion of Twin people who want to travel to Burley on Thursday to do their second Greek class because of Wednesday night church and also want to do Apologetics on that night, we are flexible to move it.

Church and Texas

We have started going to different churches in the valley, telling them about our vision and asking them to pray for the college. Last Sunday, my mother and I went and visited The River Christian Fellowship and the people there were very welcoming. We had dinner with a table of people who promised to pray and one lady said she would start talking to people to try and convince them to support us. It was a good day.

Then we had a friend in Texas call my dad and say that his church was willing to listen to the vision and mission of ACC. So, on January 15, my mom and dad will be flying down to Texas to talk to people there about the need for a Christian Conservative college in the intermountain area. The first day or two will be in Fort Worth/Dallas area and then they will move on to Tyler TX and speak to people there. After 12 days they will fly back to Idaho to open classes in February.

Post 50

We have been offered space to have classes in the Burley/Rupert classes and we are continuing to look in the Jerome and/or Twin Falls areas for a place to hold classes. If all works out we will be running several different sets of classes in February. Keep praying for us and remember to pledge to pray if you haven't before.

Revival Theology Promotion

The website for Revival Theology Promotion is now up and running and can be accessed by the link on the side of the page. Much of the information on RTP's site will be changed over the coming weeks as we are continuing the work of RTP.

Classes

Due to interest in classes, we are offering classes in February. We will offer classes in any area of Biblical Studies and Leadership/Education which students show interest in. Right now the classes we have planned are Apologetics and New Testament Greek and possibly Biblical Leadership. If interested, fill out application and mail it to P.O. Box 436, Jerome ID, 83338, or give by hand to Nathanael Davis, Randall Davis, Diane Davis, or Weston McCarron.

Welcome 2008- A Story for your pleasure

A Metaphor of Life

This is a metaphor my dad wrote about our attitude towards ministry and learning how to live holy lives. In the spirit of NEW Years Day, it is about football. Enjoy, and welcome to 2008.
