Update

What a busy time. We are still working on getting the website changed, which is why I am writing this blog under Albion Christian College, not Aletheia Christian College. We got notice this last week that we have had our tax exempt status approved by the IRS. We are looking at moving out to my dad's family farm and moving the classroom and library into portables there. I should have pictures of the move up as time goes bye.

Name Change

During the last year and a half, we have been in discussions with the Mortensen family about buying the campus at Albion, ID if we raised the money necessary to buy the campus. In a discussion with the owners, we came to know they are no longer interested in selling the entire campus. So, in respect of their business at Albion and to bring about a refocus of ACC's energy, the Board of Directors voted last Monday to change the name of ACC to Aletheia Christian College.
Aletheia is a transliteration of the Greek word for truth, its meaning comes from a- plus letheia, which means to not forget. The board is excited about this change because it reflects our desire to not forget the acts of God in history.

Merry Christmas!

We had a lovely day yesterday and the day before with family and friends as we enjoyed remembering our savior's birth. Today, life goes on. We are excited to be moving into a new year with Albion Christian College. God is doing wonderful things in and through us, keep us in your prayers and have a wonderful holiday season!

Finals

This week is finals: Keep students in your prayers as they drive to tests and as they finish the first semester at Albion Christian College. Last night we had freezing rain followed by snow, so safe travels is definitely big on prayer needs since we have one student traveling three hours back from home to take the tests and another traveling one hour.

We thank God for the provision He has given us this year as we daily rely on Him to fulfill our needs and our students' needs. We are thankful that the first semester is done and ACC is no longer my parents dream, but has become a reality.

Comments

For those who are praying for the college and watching the blog, feel free to leave comments. Comments would help keep me interested in blogging, which in turn keeps you informed about how to pray for the college. So, feel free.

Preparing for Next Semester

I am thinking about moving out of the college house to start a single guys apartment for the next semester. We have a class list up for spring semester. Dad and mom are both preparing for finals next week.

Fridays

Today is a slow day, with only one class and the weekend approaching, we take a little time to sit and do house hold things (like shopping for thanksgiving food, yay!). In the busy life of a 21st century American, it is always good to stop and take time to remember God and to rest in Him. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy, for you were slaves in Egypt and God brought you out to give you rest. Whatever day, whatever moment we have, we take and remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is our Sabbath, our rest and we can trust and rely in Him.
